Participation

A minimum age of 16 applies to participate in the classes of Krav Maga Twente. Approval from parent(s) and/or guardian(s) is required up to the age of 18.

Students of Krav Maga Twente declare that they have no antecedents to the judiciary or that they are (potential) enemies of the Dutch state or the state of Israel. If the instructor requests this, the student must show a Certificate of Good Conduct (VOG). There may be costs associated with this that are for the account of the student. The VOG to be shown on request does not apply to students who have already been professionally screened by the judicial authorities.

Krav Maga Twente reserves the right to remove students who do not comply with the above article, or who exhibit disruptive or deviant behavior (both before and/or during and/or after the lessons) from the training location. This can also result in a unilateral termination of the membership by Krav Maga Twente. Krav Maga Twente also reports this reason for terminating membership at the IKMF, the Krav Maga association.

If it appears that the student has provided incorrect information in these regulations, the membership may be terminated.

Participation in classes of Krav Maga Twente is entirely at your own risk. Krav Maga Twente is not responsible for any damage or injury incurred during the lessons, nor for damage or loss of clothing/material/objects that are present or left behind at the training location.

The student hereby declares that he/she will receive the present education exclusively and solely at his/her own risk and that the costs of any accident or injury, incurred as a result of participation in the lessons, will be borne entirely by himself/herself. . You also remain responsible for the breakdown of items left at the location, any resulting costs are for your own account. Krav Maga Twente does not accept any responsibility and the student releases Krav Maga Twente from any liability.

Every student of Krav Maga Twente is advised to take out liability insurance.

Every student is obliged to become a member of the Krav Maga IKMF Nederland (IKMF) foundation. No exams can be taken without this membership. With your IKMF membership you can participate in the seminars at home and abroad and you can train for free (up to 1 month) at other IKMF Krav Maga clubs abroad. The costs of this membership are € 27.50 adults (price January 2023) € 10,- kids and teenagers (price January 2023) per calendar year, excluding a mandatory IKMF passport (€ 25). This federation contribution is paid directly to IKMF Netherlands without the intervention of Krav Maga Twente. The registration form of the association, IKMF NL, is digital on the site of IKMF Nederland present. This must be completed by all students who are members of Krav Maga Twente. Only complete the association's membership form (IKMF-NL) if you are registered as a member of Krav Maga Twente and in consultation with Krav Maga Twente.

When the groups become too small or too large over time and new groups start, it is possible that groups will be merged into a new group. It is therefore possible that you will train at a different time. As you progress in level, you may also move on to other lesson times.

Clothing and protection:

Most materials can be purchased at the association's webshop To avoid purchasing the wrong materials and/or clothing, it is not recommended to buy items on your own without prior consultation. This prevents disappointment afterwards. Krav Maga Twente supplies these materials whenever possible. Articles are delivered to the lesson location after cash or bank payment.

In the first 2 months it is allowed to train in training pants, T-shirt and indoor sports shoes (eg wrestling shoes/indoor fitness or indoor sports shoes). After these two months, the student is obliged to wear an official Krav Maga uniform. This consists of official IKMF pants with a black/white IKMF logo and a T-shirt with the same IKMF logo on the back and left chest or a Krav Maga Twente club shirt. From P1 level, a level patch is also worn on the left leg below the IKMF logo. The pants, T-shirt, logo and patches can be purchased through Krav Maga Twente. Protective attributes such as cross protection (toque) and dental protection should be used. After 2 months you will need shin guards and MMA gloves. At higher levels, head protectors may be worn after about 1-1½ years. The latter attributes must be provided by the student and can be purchased from Krav Maga Twente if desired.

Practice weapons and punch/kick pads are provided by Krav Maga Twente. It is allowed to use your own training equipment or weapons after approval of the instructor.

Etiquette in and around the training location

Students of Krav Maga Twente are expected to treat their fellow students with respect. Uncontrolled training can result in injury or spoiling other people's training fun and is not accepted.

It is desirable to pay attention to personal hygiene. Injuries caused by nails that are too long, for example, can cause infections. A strong smell of sweat can spoil other people's enjoyment of training. Students of Krav Maga Twente are therefore expected to appear well-groomed at the training..

Failure to follow these points or other inadmissible behavior can, after being addressed several times, result in termination of the membership of Krav Maga Twente.

Krav Maga Twente and the IKMF:

If you injure someone during class, it is expected that you take this person to the doctor or emergency room yourself, otherwise the class cannot continue for the whole group. Any damage/costs can be recovered from you, which is why third-party insurance is recommended.

The use of Krav Maga outside of the training locations is only allowed for the necessary legal defense of yourself or of third parties, when there is a real, immediate danger to the well-being of that person(s). In all situations, the application of Krav Maga should be proportional and subsidiary. The use of Krav Maga for evil purposes (eg senseless violence) results in immediate termination of the membership of Krav Maga Twente and the IKMF.

Wearing jewelery during training is prohibited. This is for your own safety and that of your training partner(s). So no piercings, earrings, necklaces, bracelets, watches and rings or other objects during the training. Wearing glasses and/or contact lenses is at your own risk. It is recommended that you leave valuables at home.

The instructor should be notified of any changes in health status. For example, old and new injuries, headaches, nausea, etc. One may never leave the lesson location during the lesson without informing the instructor. This is for your own safety (for example, after a blow you can suddenly collapse outside the gym).

Payments lessons and seminars:

A €25 registration fee is due upon registration. You will immediately receive the Krav Maga Twente club shirt. One is only registered when the registration fee has been paid.

The tuition fee is €35 per month. You will have the opportunity to train once a week, on Monday and/or Thursday. For € 45 you get the opportunity to come and train two lessons a week. We also have the family subscription (max 4 people) within Krav Maga Twente, which costs € 85. Changing class times is only possible in consultation with Krav Maga Twente if there is space within the classes.

With the first payment, both the registration fee and 2 months of tuition are paid in advance. The following months, the tuition fee is paid in advance each month. The payment is therefore always one month in advance.

The tuition fee must also be paid if the student does not participate in any class for whatever reason. It is only possible to deviate from this rule in the event of prolonged absence. A request for this must be submitted in writing or by e-mail.

The agreement is entered into for an indefinite period of time and only ends if one of the parties informs the other party that it wishes to terminate the present agreement. You can cancel your membership in writing or by email at least 1 month in advance. It is not possible to cancel by telephone.

In the event of late payment of the tuition fees, the claim can be handed over to a collection agency. The costs associated with this collection are for the account of the (former) student. This can also be a reason for deregistration and notification of reasons for deregistration (payment arrears/default) to the association (IKMF).

IKMF Krav Maga seminars can be followed regularly at home and abroad. Here is taught by high level GIT instructors from the IKMF from Israel or other countries. Attending these seminars is highly recommended by Krav Maga Twente but is otherwise separate from membership. Anyone can participate in this. Costs and transport are for your own account and are therefore not included in the monthly contribution. Price for the seminars for IKMF members is determined by the association (IKMF).

Holidays:

Krav Maga Twente can be closed for a number of weeks per year due to holidays and/or public holidays. The schedule can be requested from the instructors.

The regular class location of Krav Maga Twente is closed during the summer holidays. If Krav Maga Twente itself is not closed by then, lessons are given in the open air or at alternative locations.

On the days that the instructor is absent due to training, course, illness or other circumstances, an attempt will be made to find a replacement so that the lessons or joint training opportunities can continue. To gain insight into various other systems or martial arts, other classes can also be given by instructors from disciplines such as Karate, kickboxing, MMA, BJJ, etc.

Advice from the instructors:

Wear a mouthguard and a toque! Good insurance does cover the finances, but never the further suffering. Normal indoor sports shoes are fine but often have some drawbacks (sharp edges/insufficient support/etc), wrestling shoes are therefore preferable. To prevent wrong materials being purchased, it is always better to contact the instructor first. This is to avoid unnecessary costs and disappointment afterwards. Make sure you have liability insurance. Damage that you may inflict on others is then usually covered. Lots of fun!
